1961年
1950年6月1日，《大众电影》画报在上海创刊， 同年6月16日在上海正式发行。 1966年6月，文革前夕，《大众电影》出完第六期（总第306期）后，宣布停刊。
1979年1月20日，《大众电影》复刊。 上世纪80年代正是全民热衷于电影的火热时代，《大众电影》在黄金时期最高销量达近千万册，创下中国文艺类杂志的最高发行量。
60多年的《大众电影》，是中国电影发展的见证，也是极其珍贵的文物，具有很高的收藏价值。其早期刊物在收藏市场最高单价甚至超过千元。 现依据网络资料，将能够收集齐全的《大众电影》封面、封底明星照按年份分集发表。
